Got dogs that need walks? Gimme Paw is the team for you. We’ve got heart, energy and talent, and we care about every canine that crosses our path. In addition to knowing our streets and loving our dogs, Gimme Paw has a large crew with a wealth of industry experience. We’re at your service!
Gimme Paw Dog Walking has been growing since we started in 2010.
Yes, we are fully insured and bonded.
We only hire employees. It is illegal to hire Independent Contractors and we only operate above board.
We care for dogs and cats, and sometimes accommodate other animals that need food, cleaning or just a cuddle!
Billing occurs on a bi-weekly basis by credit card (Master Card, Visa and Amex) via our online petcare system. We do not store your credit card information and you can update it at any time. An invoice will be emailed to you, and you can always view your statement online.
During regular hours your dog will have one primary walker and a secondary walker who will periodically walk your dog to maintain a relationship and familiarity. If your regular walker is sick or on vacation the secondary walker will fill in, and in the event that both walkers are out we will provide a fully trained fill-in walker. If your dog walker decides to move on from Gimme Paw Dog Walking, we will provide another walker to take over their route, and familiarize them with all the dogs in their care in a comprehensive hand off. We do not have ‘on-call’ walkers, all of our gap-coverage walkers go on walks with the regular walkers so that they maintain familiarity with all the dogs we care for.
Gimme Paw Dog walking not only do you get the benefit of our years of experience, you also get year-round coverage. We will never leave you without a walker or cat sitter. Our walkers are fully trained and have round-the-clock management and supervision. Combined with our use of PetCheck technology, you can rest easy with Gimme Paw.
We are transitioning to a four dog maximum to reflect updates and changes in the pet care industry, as well as keeping in line with building management regulations. We never have more than four dogs on a walk, and take time to evaluate and assess each new dog to make sure that they are with other dogs they will be comfortable with. We do not take on aggressive dogs, as safety is our top priority, and if we have any concerns we will walk a dog individually until we are sure they will be happy in a small group. Some dogs walker better with a buddy as they feel they are in a pack and will also get good socialization and learn polite meet-and-greet manners.
We will never tie your dog up outside, and we do not take dogs to the dog park as rough play and over-stimulation can distract from top-quality care. Your walker will be with your dog on a leash at all times.
We will provide you with a green ‘Gimme Paw Dog Walking’ leash that our walkers will use with your dog (and of course you can use it yourself!). If your dog is usually walked on a collar, we may use a backup just in case the collar breaks, or provide you with a RuffWear harness so that your dog is comfortable and safe on their walks.
Complete a contact form and we can get started as soon as possible.
We will be happy to give your dog breakfast, lunch or dinner at your direction, and administer medication at no extra charge. If you are treat-training or like to give your dog a snack after their walk, just provide the treats and we’ll do the rest! All special requests must be sent to us via email, and will be noted on our rota so that nothing falls through the cracks.
Cat visits last anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on what your cats need; cleaning litter boxes, brushing, feeding, fresh water, dangling playtoys, giving medication etc.
Gimme Paw Dog Walking has you covered! We can usually add last minute walks but the earlier we know the better we can accommodate you.
New York State considers our pets ‘property’ so we are required by law to charge sales tax.
We certainly do not expect tips, however if you feel especially grateful if your walker goes out of their way to clean up an accident or mess, you can leave something for your walker. Many of our clients like to leave tips at holiday time, which is appreciated but not expected.
